It has an upscale sports bar vibe, and it’s a great place to watch your favorite sports game while you unwind with a drink of your choice and your favorite type of smoked-to-perfection meat. With indoor and outdoor seating, you’ll never feel too cramped at this restaurant either, even on busy nights.
Whole Hog Cafe
If you’re willing to drive the 20 minutes to Yonkers, this restaurant is well worth the trip. Southern-style BBQ is the name of the game at Whole Hog Cafe, and its brisket, pulled chicken, and pulled pork platters are reliably good. Get your favorite meat on a sandwich or on a plate with all your favorite traditional Southern sides, including mac & cheese, slaw, cornbread, and green beans. The cornbread is perfectly moist and just a little sweet.
It helps too that Whole Hog Cafe is known for their quick and friendly service and that they offer five different choices of BBQ sauce from mild to spicy to vinegar-based. We’ve heard sauce #3 is highly recommended. If you become a Whole Hog regular, you can try them all!
Korean BBQ Grill
If you’re in the mood for a different kind of BBQ (Korean, specifically), head down to New Rochelle and give this place a try. Korean BBQ grill is as authentic as you can get, and the food has a homemade quality that will keep you coming back for more. The Hot Stone Bibimbap, spicy fried chicken, and Korean wings are standout options.
You can also get some pretty great bubble tea at Korean BBQ Grill to quench your thirst or offset the spiciness of some of their dishes. Plus, this restaurant is known to have friendly, attentive servers and a casual, fun atmosphere. They don’t skimp on the portions, either. It’s not uncommon to find people from all over the area here because this place doesn’t disappoint, and people just keep coming back.
